We'll see what happens. Remember, Larry Brown's 76'ers won one in LA, then lost the next 4. We probably won't know if Detroit's for real until they've won a couple more.

But I like the strategy of shutting everyone down hard except Shaq and Kobe... It's always the "other" players who come up big for the Lakers, so maybe this is the weigh!

3 out of the last 4 years the Lakers have won the championship...your JV east coast Pistons haven't won one in 15 years.

Like I said, we won't know for another couple games whether the Laker's are in trouble... but you guys gotta admit, Detroit didn't play scared like all the other teams the Lakers have been facing, and I think Larry Brown's "been there before against the Lakers" is an asset.

Did anyone else notice the seriously deep cleavage that was right behind Phil the entire game? Anytime he was seated the camera was perfectly placed upon the impressive disembodied cleavage behind him (I think we got to see the woman's face only once, and it was brief)

We came out and legitimately kicked the Lakers collective asses last night. They did not CHOKE,we beat them fair and square. Yes it is a seven game series,and at the very least the Pistons made the series go one game longer than most people thought they ever could !
Besides I have never liked the Lakers,I am an eastern conference fan all the way,even if the Pacers had made it in I would have rooted for them !
THE PISTONS WILL NOT GO DOWN QUIETLY ! Might even SHOCK THE WORLD !

From all of the analysis I've read, including the pregame, there was not one source (including the LA Times) who said they would sweep, it would be a cakewalk, etc. Most called for a 6 game series, so like Cosmic said there's one for you guys, enjoy. I do understand yours and others hate for the lakers, it all boils down to jealousy and envy...if they hadn't been my team for the last 20 years then I'd feel the same way I'm sure. It was really the "Faker" thing that got my goat, since clearly they have proven many times over to be the real deal.

Source? Malone or Payton didn't want to get raises, they wanted to get rings. They both took ENORMOUS pay cuts to play for the Lakers (who takes a MAJOR pay cut to come to the Yankees?) Personally I wish they had never come here, brothers Kobe and Shaq have PROVEN many times to be able to win championships.

As for respecting my elders, I do, and seeing how you don't list an age in your profile one can only assume you are already wearing adult diapers. If you're not, may I strongly suggest you do so prior to the next game because you will surely shit your pants in fear. I actually read numerous sources that they would sweep. And all of them had articles today eating their words....good times.

The Lakers have not faced a defensive opponent like the Pistons in these playoffs. I expect them to be a different team tonight,not saying the Pistons are gonna get blown out,but the Lakers had better have a different look tonight or they are gonna really be in deep.
As far as the pundits views on this series,there really has been noone willing to give the Pistons a chance. Just look at the Vegas odds. They are very skewed,and when your team is not given a chance,and they come out and win the first game,that gets you going.

It is possible to root for a team from one conference or another regardless of the fact that they are not your favorite team. I am and have always been an Eastern Conference basketball fan,so I generally root for that league when my team has bowed out. Same with baseball,I am pretty much an American League fan,and always root for them in the series.

Hall,I am glad you are with me though,you too Notty,somebody has to root for the underdog !
