ok, so hubby & I are watching the jets/ne game & he asked a rules question that I can't answer... can y'all help??

if the QB throws the ball into the endzone & it hits the uprights... is it then out of bounds? or still in play? like, can a receiver catch the ball after it hits the bars & then make a touchdown?

thanks!

I believe that would be considered out of play...

7. Any forward pass becomes incomplete and ball is dead if:

(a) Pass hits the ground or goes out of bounds.

(b) Pass hits the goal post or the crossbar of either team.

I got a question... is it true that if u call a fair catch on a punt, the very next play u can kick a field goal with out any defenders on the field?

Not sure if theyre not allowed on the field, but they cant defend against the kick. You can do it on a kickoff too.

i believe that "free kick" rule is still applicable to today's game.
