Made it home safe. Over 1000 miles driven. exhausted, smilin! Two of the phinest shows I've seen in a long time. More of my trip later.

When I got home, I caught up on all posts since I left. While listenning to a great recording of Elvin Bishop 1973. Thanks alot, Mack.
Llary, hope you have a great bday. Mule ROCKS!! By the way what time did you get Mardi Gras tix? I tried when I got home, I think they are sold out.
Dan, What are you doing on your' bday?
Nice to have Mr Natural helping out. Isn't this a great place?
Dave, Once again you have found a new way to inspire us, Kudos to you and your' family. Sounds like sabotage though with the remote.Built To Last, our theme song. They closed last night with a killer Bid You Goodnite. Tears. more on set lists later.
Welcome back, Fuff.
Rose, I hope shot 2 went better for you. Hang in there.
Jason, that calendar is still good for about 6 weeks. Then a collectors item. You're welcome.

Welcome to newbie Brian. This is da place.Do you know your' genotype? Viral load?
Bruce, I wouldn't push mmj with the feds. It is still very taboo to them. (pharmys and plastics and deforresters can't make any money on it. Fuckem. Go to norml, get your' closest Dr.
Want to acknowledge "almost newbies" for the way you are jumping in and helping already.
Kevin, please send me that link that you got Fri show from. I want to get all three shows.
Twangfan, WCD, Maria and all phine philzone music givers, thank you so much for your' compassion. Like, Kevin, I have good download capabilities and will step aside on this one. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
Martin, or should I say, Dr. Martino? You know you are welcome on the west (best) coast anytime.
Way to go RIP!!!
Greatnews, pincushion partner Big Matt. Sounds like you are coping well too. Hope to meet you in Feb.
To everyone on this most phine of all websites, I love you all.
PEACE, Mark

Now, following will be an acount of my journey including a few pics. If you are tired of me and my traveling/ picture posts, then go to next thread. Anyone who wants to be bored, tag along.
I post this to share my good fortune and to try and set an example in the fine style of Major Domo and Cap'n Budley. This shit is not only doable, but sometimes great fun!

Went down the street, trying to pass out flyers and scoping the ticket scene. 150 people with their fingers in the air but no tickets anywhere.
Discouraged, I went back to my hotel rm.
Went back down just before the show to try again and to meet my good friend Jen who found a sunday ticket for me (turned out to be xmas gift from very good friends Steve and Jen. Awesome. Thanx).
Jen's friend and my new friend Jesica(also a zoner wouldn't you know)found that she had a extra sat for me. She only asked what she paid for it although many people were offerring over 100.00 for "extras". I gave her 60 and was/am very grateful. Sat in my seat and the boys'came on stage. In 10 minutes I went from being depressed to enjoying "Just another Whistle stop"

They sang "Death Don't Have No Mercy" and China Doll" from the balcony. Did you see that set list? Hurts Me Too, Black Peter,Terrapin, Watchtower, Rider, Feelin Bad and Knockin. wait till sun.
Both shows close to 5 hrs overall.

The Girls sang "Imagine" from the balcony, to start second set sun night. Tears.
Help>Slip>Eyes>St Stephen>Eleven>Lovelight>Dark Star? Truly amazing!!! Comes a Time, Franklin's, NTFDAWAY, And a Wheel, Bid You Good night. more tears. Sorry, I'm a sap.
Now to the Band.
I always new Jimmie Herring was a fine guitar player, but Sunday night, at least in my eyes, He was elevated to the next level.
Molo was great as usual. I guess some people worried wether Chris Robinson would fit in (I didn't know enough about him so I had no opinion goin in). Worry no more. He Shined!!!
Barry Sless contributed his brilliant guitar/ pedal steel to the mix flawlessly. The keyboard player from Particle, Steve Molitz, is very versatile and seemed tokeep things flowing all night.Tim Carbone, violin, and John Skehan, mandolin, from Railroad Earth, were a wonderful addition/surprise. And it was sooooo gooood to see/hear Jackie and Gloria again.

Iwas worried goin in that I would miss a few people not there, but hell, if this is the final lineup(which I don't think it is), I would be very happy.
I'm absolutely not qualified to review music, but I know what I like.

Thanks!!! I've been reading posts about what an excellent weekend you were having, and it's great to see these photos. Thanks for posting them so fast. And, you reminded me of a joke from back in the daze. Anyone remember when a TV set came out with the "works in a drawer" as the ad said? I guess it had a drawer you opened up to find the controls or something. Anyways all us Haight St. dopers sure got a kick out of it everytime that ad came on. We could sure have used a TV set with the works in a drawer! Or so we thought. Peace, Fran

Bell ringing on the Winter Solstice for me. I put in a couple of hrs. tonight for our local Salvation Army untill my toes felt frozen solid. So far the volunteers have collected approx. $2300 for the food pantry, etc. Such great warm feelings it gives one to be able to help.{{{{{warm fuzzies}}}}}

Man what great pics, and it sounded like an excellent adventure as well Mark!!

Mark, thank-you for the call it really made my day. I've been meaning to get back to you, but you know how that goes.
To be honest, I haven't had a chance to even read these post yet ( hopefully tonight), cause I've got to roll downtown Richmond way to the main hospital MCV where I have to go to get these prescriptions filled. You'd think they would make it easier, and let us pick them up anywhere, but I can't complain.....seeing how I'm only going to have to pay $4 per prescription!!! That sounds to good to be true, and I'll actually believe it when I see it (LOL)!!
Yes, this will be my first time getting a prescription filled since I've been accepted into VCC ( Virginia Co-ordinated Care for the Un-insured). They pay for 80% of my Dr. bills and all medical procedures ( including specialist)!! I just have to go see the family Dr. that they have assigned to me ( He's a nice enough guy), as he went ahead and made my prescription for a whole 3-month fill-up, rather than have me have to keep going back down for re-fills every month!! Is that cool or what?
They say the wait at the pharmacy there is up to 2 hrs. however...so I better get moving!! Got to be at work in about 3 hrs!! Whew..... that's cutting it close!

Anyway, sorry to ramble about myself on Mark's thread.....it sounded like great fun Mark, and I'm really happy for you that you were able to go ( and make both shows...WooooHooooo)!! I told you so...... I can't tell you how, but I had a little influence on you getting that ticket right after you called me...hahahaha!!
Talk at ya'll later... :-) :-)
