Music Talk Archive 2004:
Telluride
This is the festival ive most wanted to attend over the last few years and I still haven't made it. I was looking at the tickets today, and I'm a bit confused by all the camping options. Does anyone know anything about this? Which campsites are closest, nicest, party areas?
I've not been since 93 but you could camp right next to where everything was going down. The thing about Telluride is everything is in easy walking distance.
Ive been a few times. You want town park camping. Saturday night in town park is a good thing, actually all the nights are good, and if your ears get tired the hiking is good too
Town park is definitely the way to go. You're def. in for a treat. Friends and I went to Telluride for five years in a row. We've taken a break for a couple of years to "recharge" and make it totally special again, but I'll certainly return to the most beautiful spot in the U.S.
There's great hiking, biking, etc. in addition to all the great bars, restaurants, etc. There are beautiful women everywhere, and you can party pretty openly.
In addition to the usual bluegrass greats, I've also seen Keb Mo, Taj Mahal, Johnny Cash, John Prine, Jackson Browne, Hornsby, etc. there.
Dominic,
I think you summed up Telluride pretty darn well.

I assume yer not a wintersport enthusiast because the skiing/riding is some of the finest in the West with some sick steeps.
Partying openly and beautiful women have become a tradition and, I guess, the dirty old man in me appreciates these things more and more.
Goin' to see Kimock in the Sheridan Opera House in two weeks. I'm amped whoooooeeeeeee!!!!!
Almost forgot,
the party favours which abound are always top-shelf.
