Music Talk Archive 2004:
Greg Allman
I hear the old midnight rider himself is doing a tour this winter. I have been listening to his
1973 'laid back' solo album lately. Very good blues and jazzy sound, a bit moody, but all in all a superb sounding album.

i'm looking forward to the Keswick show, the word on the street is that Bird72 will be flying in...along with usual philly/jersey area allman bros. suspects...
Nice to see Robben in the mix--I have seen all of Greg & Friends tours since the mid ninties--don't miss it, he swings and Floyd is an unsung master
floyd is the man.....he is a mighty fine singer, he came out with derek trucks a few months ago down here in orlando.....he lives in daytona
Mohegan show isnt in the wolf den, its in the arena...which makes it a ticketed show for 8 thousand rather than free for 200, and sort of free for everyone else.
You mentioned Laid Back, but if you haven't heard Gregg's most recent solo album "Searching for Simplicity" you should really check it out. I want to say it came out in 1998. Very soulful, has some different interpretations of old classics and good new tunes.
He is playing House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC on Feb 2nd as well
Linnie - What are you doin over here you sexy thing? You get lost or something?
