Was at this show. That Planet Jam was and is a mind-melter! The whole show is "not for beginners", and chock full of heady, deep and awesome jams.
It had a slightly downbeat vibe to the show, but that might've been the fact that the Camden crowd was drunk and outta their skulls, but then a litte lost once the Q took off for Saturn and Beyond the Infinite!
Get the shows and TRIP OOOOOOUUUUTTTT!!!!!

Did they play each jam only once? How do people know what the names were? Were they clearly different (more cohesive maybe?) than "typical" PLQ jams?
I can speak about the Saturn jam...not sure if I heard any of the others or not..
It started, to my ears, like one of the typical opening jams. But, then you could notice changes going on and it would sound vaguely familiar sounding, but then go off on a tangent - or so it would sound like! It was very, very cool, but laid back and trippy, yet structured...I'd guess Phil had said something like "let's go from here, to there, then we'll find our way to over there...", not at a furious pace like King Solomon's Marbles or anything..
hope that helps...I'm not a musician, and I need to listen to these some more myself!
just hop on the vine to get the disc and check em out.
