LOL!

Bernard Kerik apologized to President Bush on Saturday after questions about the immigration status of a housekeeper-nanny he employed led the former New York City police commissioner to withdraw his nomination as homeland security chief.

sworn to uphold what laws?

No, he withdrew his name because he has an active arrest warrent in the state of new jersey. It was filed in civil court, but that doesn't change the fact that once again the shrub boys didn't do their homework, and tried to con people with a blatant political appointment.

he has no warrent in new jersey. It was a civil suit and has nothing to do with anything. I think he was cheating on his taxes and that is why he withdrew. In an interview i saw he said there were tax problems, and his nanny may not be legal. The only reason he was going to get the position was because he was on the board of Taser, which does boocoo business with the united states government. I would like to know how many tax shelters he was taking advantage of and how many contracts Taser inc. stood to receive with his appointment!

Nothing wrong with a good tax shelter given the amount we are all taxed. However, I'm not trying for any Federal position. Did you know that if you open your own home based business you can deduct a portion of your utilities, mortgage, phone, cable (assuming you connect to the net via cable)...and on and on...? Why pay the government all those taxes...get some back. Open a home based business now !

He accepted gifts while corrections commissioner from a (mob-connected) company doing business with the city.

well, he should fit right into Shrub's team of misfit crooks & would be mobsters shouldn't he?

>(mob-connected) company doing business with the city.
Shakin', you should know that the mob runs NYC, though the Feds will tell you they have cracked the mob. If he didn't accept the gifts he'd be sleeping with Hoffa in Giants Stadium by now. That's the way the Big Apple works. Not that it makes it right for him to be in any position. Ever hear how business is conducted at the Javits Center, for example ?

Duh. No surprise. This Rudy Toadie has bad shit buried on every stop in his career.

True Story:

Saturday night in the car on the way to Brooklyn, we hear this story on WINS for the first time.

ME: "I guarantee the nanny business is NOT the story here."

THE WIFE: "What do you mean?"

ME: "I mean the guy is crooked and not that bright. Just wait."

Front page on Sunday:-) Nanny, my ass.

Another tidbit: ever wonder why Mario Cuomo NEVER ran for President ? Rumor has it the mob ties are with his wife's family. You can go as high as you want in NY State but not when it comes to national politics.

Spitzer...I wonder what skeletons he has in his closet.<<

Old campaign loans from Dad. already cleared up.

are you suggesting there's any parallel with a shit like Kerik?

We could use 50 AGs like Spitzer in this country.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Bob Kurkela (Bob_is_jerry) on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 03:17 am: Edit Post

No parallel suggested...just wondering aloud. I personally think Spitzer is too aggressive in his approach to busting businesses. If he's so gung ho about cleaning up shit in NY, why doesn't he aim at the corruption in Albany ? Reason > he's got his eyes on the Governor's job. He picks and chooses who to bust. Kind of scares me.

What an assinine assumption, Brian.
As for my main point of targeting Albany instead of Wall Street, you clearly don't understand NY politics. You should, considering our politics almost mirror the corruption of New Jersey politics. You see, big business and politics go hand in glove. So, if you are going to go after the business go after the politician. Case in point:
http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/news/WABC_112204_velella.html
** Spitzer only wants to be Governor. He appears to go after these corporations, but why don't you look at what the eventual outcome was. This was nothing more than a sefl-promotion tour.

No shit?:-O

Spitzer's right to go after the corps.
Let the voters go after Albany.

What an assinine assumption, Brian.<<
I'm not assuming anything. "Too aggressive in his approach to busting businesses" SOUNDS republican, whether you are or not.

Ok
No fighting
I got a little touchy
I'm Independent and voted Libertarian, though owning my own business naturally makes me dislike Spitzer.
Voters going after Albany...same thing as asking the voters to go after Trenton...apathy...what has been voter turnout in our two states as of late ? I don't know, but I bet it's low.

I own my own business and like Spitzer. The only business owners that shouldn't like Spitzer are the ones breaking the law. Are you breaking the law, Bob?

Shakin, I just bought this program called Quick Books Basic 2005. One hell of a program. Check it out.

I've been using Quickbooks to do my billing for years now. Is 2005 any different from previous editions? I've got Quickbooks 2004 Professional Edition.

This is my first time with it, so I have no past experience. Professional is more complex than Basic. You must really be raking in the $ if you need that !

I inherited it from my ex-partner. It does the billing. I do the checkbook by hand.
