No Question
France
just kidding
my vote goes to Stagger Lee
"Not only is that mother big,
He packs a .45!"

Fire On The Mountain. Too bad it's so short.

Ditto on IIHTWTG, shame they didn't play that one more as it would have worked well in the ballad slot, sigh ...

"IIHTWTG" gets my vote. Beautiful song. Surprised it was never covered by Sinatra.
Jerry's solo in that is probably my favorite of any studio solo.

Uhhhhh - NONE - I have always HATED the way that album sounds (tho I like most of the songs) - Lowell George coked outta his mind trying to make them sound like a disco act - would rather subject myself to the overproduced mess that is Terrapin Station anyday . . .

Hey Sideshow - tell us how you REALLY feel. Don't hold back. (grin)

IIHTWTG is my sentimental favorite, was our wedding song.

Otherwise, I'd go w/ Stagger Lee.

I like "Minglewood" quite a bit. Have you heard the remastered CD? There's a bonus track with Lowell George singing "Good Loving". His vocals are pretty bad, IMO.

I agree with Bob... the album sucks.

Although that batch of songs does have a few that grew nicely live. Live, Shakedown is the best hands down. Stagger Lee is alright too.

Sideshow's usually so easy to please...

France lyrics
From the album Shakedown Street

Way down in the south of france all the ladies love to dance
Kick their heels up in the air snap their fingers for romance

While the gentlemen compare blonde or black or auburn hair
Check the motion and the style oh, you know they take their while

Hey, to make the motion more complete, yeah, to make it more a treat
Club d'jour is where to go come on down and see the show

When the rhythm's really right you can burn it down tonight
When the singing's really fine sweet as spanish sherry wine

When the club can't contain the beat it just rolls out in the street
Spills on down the avenue bringing dancers to their feet.

When it's good as it can be it gets better wait and see
Oh, these folks don't ever sleep till they're passed out in the street

Way down in the south of france all the ladies love to dance
Clap their hands and walk on air, yeah, the feeling's really there
Won't you take a little taste raise it to your charming face?

When the rhythm's really right you can burn it down tonight
When the singing's really fine sweet as spanish sherry wine

Go on take a chance, the ladies do love to dance.
