This is simply more proof that Dr.Johnson was correct:

Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

Spouse was Navy Man out of Phila. I became a protestor when my friends came back in body bags. Most of those who survived were in body bags also. They ended up suicides. War does strange things to each of us. I am more against it now than ever. It seems that we are always protecting some Rich Persons Agenda. Anyone who wants freedom knows they must fight for it...
Our colonization, the blacks proving again that there is no small price to pay even in this Country. If you want freedom bad enough you will fight for it. We should be teachers of Freedom! Not rebels for OIL. I try to conserve all use of electric(anti nuclear),gas, etc. We have heated home for 25 years with wood..Lots of friends gave us wood from their tree businesses..God Bless them. We do not kill trees, we use what dies naturally. But with mass development, there are many forests being destroyed. We get to recycle others waste. Then I plant more trees and bushes.

Hi Everyone, I thought I would drop a few words in
the discussion, just to see if I can get something
going tonight !!
Even though, I am an Old Hippy, I also served in
the Military- U.S Air Force, in the early 1970's !
Ended up doing time in Minot,N.D, as a Aircraft
Jet Mechanic ! But after serving 1 year, 1 month,
1 day; the Air Force decided that they didn't
appreciate me bringing my Hippy life-style into the Military, so they offered me a Honorable
Discharge, if I would please just Leave !!!
But to be honest with you, the present war is a
joke, its about oil, and not patriotism !!
Bush reminds me of "Tricky Dick" Nixon, no Balls,
and no brains !!!

The Hippy/Deadhead-

Bruce

Guys, I hate to break in one this, but could we keep one place on the Phlzone free of politics? One reason this thread has been such an incredible source of support for us all is that we can put aside the little differences that exist between us all and focus on fighting the dragon and helping one another. I'd hate to see this place go the way of Other Stuff or Politics, where anger and insults abound.

I read recently that something like 8 BILLION worth of interferon was prescribed last year.
Like it or not, Tx is big money, which is politics. A lot of good people's lives depend on decisions being made over the next few years.
Don't get mad at me, but there ain't no way to separate the Zone from politics- if we don't speak up, who is gonna do it for us?
I have a life other than hep C, and I'd rather risk disagreeing with my sisters and brothers than to agree to voluntary censorship.

I remember when I first started going to AA meetings The old timers would kick you out if you talked about drugs and a lot of people went out and died. They did not have much na wharf rats in those times. Now almost everyone is dually addicted as they say I think its a question of balance and it is nice to stay aware of some issues At least if someone has to vent their opinions its a question of insuring that you,re polite ,kind and gentle which can be a tough orderat times but we have to set a good example for the newbies who are of UTMOST importance to us so we can grow Peace We don't wannna get stale around here so lets get ready to piss on the dragons grave Many prayers and blessings to ALL

It occurred to me as well that I don't want to be thought of as supporting those right wing kooks (that's the nicest you'll ever hear me talk about them). I just don't want to scare off anyone who might be coming here looking for support to be run off my something dumb as politics. And I'm sure not lokoing to censor anyone or anything. Carry on.

I think it is great to vent. When I do Activism, we are shunned. People do not want to wake up and smell the garbage being heaped on us. I think venting here helps take the mind off the dragon. And it is a better way to rue the Rage.
it is nice to have people who give a damn, our Government doesnot. Maybe if we were all billionaires we would not give a hoot either but we are here to support and if we get fogged so be it. The Lord is listening and more than likely agreeing with Us. Have a good day. The winds are screaming here in Penna. I can enjoy all of you and the great outdoors also by looking out the window. Someitmes deer and birds enchant the view and I forget that humans are around. My little part of the Appalachians under the Bake Oven Knob are enchanting. Anyone ever coming to Pa look us up!

Train, I apreciate your' feelings, but I agree with Jim, Walter and Shelly. One great thing about this place is that we can come here to rage, and people understand. I've vented pretty heavy here sometimes. I know not everyone agrees with me, but I think all are tolerant of each others beliefs here. We are all fighting this dragon together, just sometimes take slightly different paths.
PEACE, Mark

PS Rob, I'm trying to set up my union mailout. they want other locals which have done so. Please email me your info. thanx.

Hey Al.....

Hang tight bro!! Hope all is well with the new study. Please keep us informed on any news big or small. I'm going in for my 6-month rugular session on Jan 5th, so anything I can carry with me about news concerning "protease inhibitors" will be much appreciated.

As far as your sentiments towards keeping this site to pretty much strictly health issues and hep-C......personally I happen to agree with you 100% which I've let be known countless and countless numbers of times over the past 3 and 1/2 years, but oh well, I've given up.....and now have just decided to let it ride. I suppose people will always need a place to vent & talk about whatever they damn well please.....and I finally decided that who the hell am I to say not to. I do hear though loud & clear what your saying about the fear of scaring people off who are coming hear to seek advice and comfort for their health concerns.......but we will just pray that since about probably 85% or more of our threads are aimed in that direction, that the one or two threads that occasionnally pop up where our brothers & sisters want to spout off about the injustices or politics that abound in our world......won't deter a soul from coming here.
I seriously doubt that after folks see the love & care that is shared here.....that they would feel compelled to leave regardless of their politics or social agendas. I am probably a perfect example. I disagree quite often with alot that is said here......and usually just keep my mouth shut, and carry on (LOL)! Somewhere in my years on this planet, I figured out that I was much happier in keeping alot of my opinions to myself rather than debating for hours over politics. That's just my own personal views however, and some pholks love to debate. More power to them I suppose.
Oh well....carry on, and stay happy!! :-)

I agree with you Martino, That kid of mine just went into the Marines! I have to shut up cause I'm not happy about this world but need to concentrate on tx. I can't help but wonder why he wanted to go? and people probably thought, "how could you let your son go?" the truth is he probabally wants to kill them and it's LEGAL. I can't do a damn thing and I'm stuck with this and that's very frusterating. but people have to vent I guess, if this comes up , oh well . it don't bother me. but TX is the Big Thing! PEACE Rose

OK,OK. I could use the practice anyway, what with the holidays coming up and prolonged time with my right wing famly just around the corner.

Hey, Martin, did you get the email I sent you a week or so ago? If not, let me know and I'll send it again. All is well with the new study although they tell me they aren't seeing the dramatic results they did last year because the doses are smaller. As soon as I get my latest AST and ALT numbers, I'll be letting everyone know what's going on. As usual, I'm not too sure myself.

Damn, we end up talking about the dragon no matter what. What was I worried about?
