Politics Archive 2004:
Bush signs $800 billion debt limit hike...is this reason for concern??
President Bush signed legislation on Friday raising the government's debt limit by $800 billion, a measure forged by the same budget pressures that squeezed the spending bill.
With the government facing imminent default because it has depleted its authority to borrow money, the debt limit bill would pump up the federal borrowing cap to $8.18 trillion. That is 70 percent the size of the entire U.S. economy, and more than $2.4 trillion higher than the debt Bush inherited upon taking office in 2001
But it's OK, tree. God told him to do it & after all, Shrub has "values".
and a "mandate".....although I sure hope that doesn't mean a date with a man.......
by the way, did anybody catch the news that Afghanistan's opium production is at an all-time HIGH?
And I'm sure Bush and his cronies are making a profit off of it.
How about a round of opium for everyone to celebrate. Here's to democracy in the middle east.
And now this just in......

Ok, so 80 % is just.....WRITTEN off. Fine, but who pays it??? You just write off a debt without some "pion" or other down the "food chain" paying for it.
Yeah its going to be the poor and social services that are going to get cut. schools Social security, health care, Im pretty the rich will get another tax cut too because the makw more money and it unfair that they pay more taxes. Its ging to be like the late 80s early 90s where poors neighborhoods are going to see a rise in violience and hard drug wars. I bet most police dept get federal cuts aswell, oh welll i guess if we cant feed the poor well always have war.
Feeding the poor is not on the right wing agenda, they just plan on putting people in prison for victimless crimes-3 square meals there.
'One man gathers what another man spills...
except in the Bush Administration'
Hey , now THIS just came across a few hours ago.....the "Good" news just keeps rollin in folks:

The budget also included laws that allow hospitals to refuse patients seeking abortion information/treatment.
It also contains measures that will allow your tax returns to be used by other government agencies (I wouldnt worry bout it unless you are a reporter or work for the govenment - in that case, you better toe the party line).
And, lastly, it also included 2 million bucks so Shrub could buy back a Presidential yacht that was sold a few years back.
Body armour for the troops - cant afford it.
A yacht for the President - no problem.
And you fucking Red State nabobs that think ole George is just a man-of-the-people... your common man just bought a $2,000,000 yacht, ya stupid saps!
AHNOLD FUH PRESIDENT
Just think... in four years, we'll have THAT to look forward to
I doubt it seeing as he wasn't born in this country
watch-- he'll fix it so he can run
They do this every year... in every presidency..

I can't help but notice that all the Bush-lovers who were waving their red-state flags around after the election haven't got a single thing to say on this. Suddenly, they're all silent. No post defending the least conservative conservative? I welcome a positive spin on the spending situation. I'm sure Fox had one. Anyone with moral values (ie, homophobes) care to clarify (ie, right-wing spin) this situation?
Bush maxxes out the national credit card -- the bill of which goes to the middle class and the children of the middle class -- and at THIS rate -- the children of the CHILDREN of the middle class -- and how does he handle it? Asks for a credit line increase. "Your every wish is my command!" says the republican-lead everything. And the spending cap goes up, up, up. Soon we will be invaded by the occupational army of business suits -- from all the countries we are in debt to. But why should he care? He's rich, well protected, and his kids will never have to worry. He is like a spoiled brat with a gold card who has no accountability for the bill.
They do this every year... in every presidency..
What get into debt with china? I thought in the 90s we cut the debt in half.
Still waiting for one of Bush's fans to weigh in on this. Strange how when Bush "won" the election, so many of them logged in to cheer and say hahahahaha, and everytime Bush screws up (uh, what time IS it?), nary a word. Please, justify this man's spending of our money.
what was it BUsh said right after being "elected"? SOmetime to the effect of the people's support being CAPITAL, and now i have CAPITAL, it's the support, and i intend to SPEND IT.
