Repost from "Other Stuff," because I'm desperate and need an answer to this dilemma.

First off, I am running Mac OS X (10.3.5) and using Mainline 3.4.2. I just started torrenting 5-6 weeks ago, and other than getting the ports forwarded correctly from the router I haven't had any real issues. That is, until now. Over the past 4 days or so I have experienced the following problem on several
torrents:

the download gets down to the very last mb, but at the very end it does not download the last mb, and thusly it never completes and kicks into seeding mode. At this point it just keeps downloading and downloading until I eventually kill it, Not only do I not get my show, but it wreaks havoc upon my download/upload ratio.

I've made a few posts here and there, and had several
people tell me that they have had the same thing happen, yet no one has offered an answer or a solution to this problem (some folks said it happens to them more often than not, so at least I'm not that bad off). **So what is happening here?** More importantly to someone who is not the world's most technologically savvy person (still, more savvy than the average bear), what can I do to remedy this? This is really beginning to frustrate me. The most recent torrent on which I experienced this is for the classic GD 4-8-72 show, which is found at
http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=9297. I can't say how many times this has occurred since it began, but I would imagine it could have been around 8-10 times (I would imagine that I had at least twice as many successful downloads at the same time). Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to email me offlist if you can help me. While keeping things in perspective, this is beginning to be a real issue with getting shows. This isn't life and death, obviously, but it is screwing with my music. And we all know how that can be. Thanks, and I hope that someone out there can come to my rescue.

Floyd

OK, tried one of the same shows that I had trouble with using a completely different client (Tomato Torrent, or something like that), and it fuckin' happened again. This is starting to piss me off...
