This show ought to come with a health warning - it so fucking kicks! My beloved Technics blasted this one out at me and I'm amazed the speakers are still working. Me - I'm in recovery!
Great stuff
I volunteer at the Oregon Country Fair in Veneta and have talked to many who were there
Lives were changed !
Seen the vcd of the Sunshine Daydream movie that was filmed there that day ?

Nope - would love to track it down! Can it be downloaded anywhere??
I only heard about this show a few days ago. I'd downloaded a show by the Zen Tricksters from July 13th '97 (you musta been there!) and noticed that their performance of "Dark Star" had been dedicated to 8/27/04. Curious, I checked it out....
I definitely believe in lives being changed by this show - it's so powerful!

I think the vcd can be found at
www.sharingthegroove.org
There's also info there regarding VCDs & how to burn them if you need that
I've seen it on furthur as well
If you've never tried furthur and like music it's great, kind of like Napster for Heads, mostly shn
If all else fails email me off board and I'll burn my set for you
There's a lot of speculation and some published reports about rights being cleared but this may be released by the guys who shot it next year on DVD, my copy is a bit craggly I'm sure it was encoded off of old VHS
The movie has alot of extra footage of the crowd and Pranksters, not the full show musically, but the dosed cameramen sure shoot some funny stuff !
Cool! I'll check out the different sites and see what I can find.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Or you can hit up this Rex Foundation benefit on the 11th of December
Rex Foundation on Both Coasts
The Rex Foundation will celebrate its 20th Anniversary with two events over the coming weeks. Ob Saturday the 27th the Foundation will host a pre-concert reception with members of String Cheese Incident and Railroad Earth before their gig at the Tweeter Waterfront in Camden, New Jersey. Two weeks later on December 11 Rex will present a party at the Great American Music Hall, with music from the Everyone Orchestr as well as a screening of Sunshine Daydream, which documents the Grateful Dead Field Trip concert at the 1972 Oregon Country Fair.
that thread title wins the 2004 zoner award
The non-Betty source, edited by Leigh Orf is BY FAR the best audio source I have heard of this show. check it out if you are listening to the Betty-board.

Bird Song
Greatest Story (with Golden Road jam)
my favorite all-time versions of those two songs
I read somewhere that film footage exists of all or most of the show. t'would be a crime if it never gets released.
