Any of you catch Frontline last night on PBS.. Really interesting stuff. The title of the program was "is Walmart good for America?" In the program the basicly laid out why many manufacturing jobs are going over seas to china.. walmart and bill clinton. Walmart in that they changed how much power retailers have in the US market by demanding prices at a level they will pay or crippling that business.. and Bill Clinton because he sought most favored nation trade status with china in the 90s.. This made it possible for many US companies to relocate to china in order to make good cheaper for ... you guessed it .. walmart.. and other bulk retailers.. but mainly walmart. In fact Walmart is encouraging companies to move over to china still in order so they can buy products much cheaper for the consumer driven US economy.. I have never seen this laid out so clearly than in the Front Line program.. Bill Clinton and Walmart.. killing american jobs..

I could be wrong but I think we've had favored nation status with China for many many years - prior to the Clinton years... Reagan maybe?

And if any of you GOoPers want to compare the first four years of Bill Clinton to that of your Savior George W Bush - feel free. Let me know what you find out.

And, psssst, Clinton hasnt been President for FOUR years. Pass it on.

Hillary gets the AG instead for 2008 with a Dem win. With a majority of Dem Govs, the logical next step would also see the House returned to Dem hands in two short years.

Like, think positive, man... LOL

The obsession some of the right has with The Clintons kills me. Seija, whats your thought of Obama Clinton 2012? Not pleasant I would imagine. I believe I saw you had a 2500.00 IRA issue you were seeking advice on. I do not see how W has any benefit headed your way, or are you a recent grad? Just curious...

dont you people understand that they are all in it together? repubs and dems, what is the difference. they are both out to screw us, the repubs just have no shame about it.

when we are all bickering like idiots, they are winning. distracting us from what they are really doing.

and oh yeah, would it make sense for me to make fun of repubs by attacking bush sr? no. so shut the fuck up about clinton! and stop shopping walmart!

>>>>Seija, whats your thought of Obama Clinton 2012?

I will never vote for Hillary. I'd vote for Bill, if I could, before I'd vote for Hillary.
To be honest...I don't know much about Obama except for all the hype...think he'd be considered a rookie in 08 so, 12...yeah...you never know...

No, not a recent grad...in fact, dropped out of college..three times...still owe the Fed 10k...paying every month..ouch...but, I couldn't stay focused...it was a bore to me. Am trying to motivate myself to finish now...one at a time...because my company will reimburse me 80% of the cost but, my mind is already spread thin with other issues at the moment.

I don't expect to benefit on a personal level from W, nor would I have with Kerry...I'd side with not increasing my taxes.
As for my broker inquiry....I want to buy $500 worth of Sirius and wasn't sure who I should go thru....I think I'm gonna head with Sharebuilder....had wanted Fidelty because my 401k is with them but, it was a 2500 min...If I screw up with $500 then, it's only $500...if I screw up with $2500...well, that's a DP on the newer car I'll need in a year or two.

Maybe the hydrogen cars Bush alluded to will be in full swing by 2006 or so...or the Alaskan drilling will. My hopes for clean air and streams are fading. Clean water will be a commodity trade.

RE this thread...I don't feel that Sam and Bill were on the same page much. Having come from a small town, I have seen what the Wal-Mart has done, and it's not pretty.

FORMER PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH: Of course, it always has to be said that Bill Clinton was one of the most gifted American political figures in modern times.

Trust me, I learned this the hard way. And here in Arkansas, you might say he grew to become the Sam Walton of national retail politics.
