It will be interesting to see if the Democrats can come up with a multi-polar (non-hegemonic) foreign policy in a post-9/11 world that the American electorate will accept. A lot of libertarian and progressive people, seem uncomfortable--or downright pissed off--with the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive unilateralism--while traditional conservatives (just ask Patrick) and neo-conservatives (just ask Johnny 5) love it.
