First set seemed kinda mild after the intense Fillmore experience but the second set was ass kickin' Sco-mule and She's 19 were freakin great. San Diego Here we Go!

Solid Mule to begin, the whole first set kinda felt that way. Breakin the door into Los Angeles and feeding her citizens a warm Mule stew. They came out, very jovial, with guns shining in the sun, ready to assess the situation. With Bad Little Doggie came the reckoning and push came to shove. They roared out like 2004 Mule was always meant to. Once that was established the new songs came in like butter melting over the glazed pancake hills. They fell into place like they were innate to the sound. A Mule must.

I really enjoy they new tunes, they were delivered with full force and conviction. Patchwork Quilte was a beautiful as ever, with outstanding Warren slide soloing.
But... the 1st set seemed just like your average Mule take out...World Gone Wild was a thunderours way to end it.

2nd set is where the storm really raged...
Fools Moon came out blasting high energy, extreme and solid, you Mule heads know what Fool's Moon is all about. I really wonder what Woody would be like powering down on some of these tunes. Man I miss him.

The real highlights of this show started with the Sco-Mule which went off into a blazing frenzy. Mule has this thing now where they can peak out at any moment with some heavy Warren shredding. Well, Sco Mule got the boogie on, electro dance party, coked out light, sterophonic swing shine. Talk about a song to showcase talent. I didn't believe in the power of scomule w/out guest until this night. Like this, just like this. This is the Super Mule Level.
Next up we got a bit of a rarity, She's Only 19 Years Old, which was played last April at the Wilshire as well. Some sweet time blues, Warren was so heartfelt, every fiber of his being was singing and sliding those sweet blues. What a sweet song. They wound up with Mule to end it up, a solid amazing version, Huge in fact, and some mezmerizing Bass Soloing going on. Great groove, Andy really makes me smile when he cuts loose, gets a little badass with his phrasing and pushes it to the next level. Andy's solo showcase is masterpiece.

Lively Up Yourself encore, its hard to ask for much more. This was a sweltering monster...yet subtle and relaxed...big monster with glasses and tea. Peak Peak! Rage Rage! Sing a sweet song.
