Everytime I see them they play pretty much the same songs - except that Ringoes picnic - both years they played a BUNCH of stuff I'd never heard anywhere else - thus I'm afraid of seeing them too much and getting tired of them . . .

keep your day ( and weekend ) job, yo!

somebody gota pay for this

impressive.

actually just got off the horn with me Bro in Law in Chicago- told him to hit the Sat show. he said
" if you're recommending them- I'll go."

told him
" I'm recommending them."

he asked about freak factor, told him mild to moderate- nothing he couldnt handle

curious to hear his opine.

"somebody gota pay for this "

-right!..no parking lots to wookie a grille cheese and no railroad zone to zip spange free room/board/eats. gotta make it on your own on this train.

funny i put that list to the earthboard and got shit thrown at me and got called a rookie and a change spanger.

...Greyfox Bluegrass, Floydfest & Magfest..with the addition of springfest or merlefest, possibly telluride bluegrass and hopefully high seirra next year, or next. life on the railroad earth! ...i like the view.

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL EMPEROR.
pay him tribute everywhere.

"somebody gota pay for this"

but just so you know....

4 days of magfest will run you $130 bucks...throw in airfare its an extra $159. food and booze and the works divide by another 15 folks from jersey i travel to these things with and camp with...bout another 60-70 bucks..say 100.

so in the end 4 days of camping on the suwannee river food, booze and bands and airfare and everything else included is UNDER 500 BUCKS.

500 bucks in all cases will probably get you a few days - a week on the road with "the dead". all expenses included. but every place they play will look the same and they'll only play for a max. 3hrs. a night. the rest of your 500 get chewed up on travel expenses and you burn more vacation days getting from point A to point B.

therefor, in a toss between todays dead tour and festivals...id rather go to magfest. (greyfox, floyd also) and the folks there are just nicer too.

Saw them last night in Omaha. there were only about 300 people who showed up and todd didnt sing the entire show. it was an instrumental jam from start to finish.

I'd like to hear this.... Greg, let me know when that one hits the Archive...

Yeah! All instrumental RRE, that would be great to hear.

300 is a hell of alot better than the 50 that turned out for the pittsburgh show this summer. i hope that doesn't keep them from coming here in the future.

The jam was high tempo all the way through and sounded good for 95% of the show. The PA was turned up way too much toward the end and the sound was not that clear. The playing by the band was on fire all night.

ill let you know about the archive dan, but the band has been multi-tracking this last west coast run for a live album, ...(i think?). so im not too sure if the boards will be available anytime soon. i hope someone ran a rig though.

...more inside stuff for SI...no seriously, just read the earthboard its all over there and public and stuff.
