Last night's show at the Great American Music Hall was wonderfuL! (what a great venue!!)

we were groovin' upstairs in the first set, the band was really on fire, the place was packed.
they were having so much fun.
saw phil sitting at a table enjoying the show. was great to see him out and about, and looking great!!! smile from ear to ear.

at setbreak, he went backstage with Vince (umphrey's manager) and speculation started to buzz.

they came out for the second set played a tune or two, and then Pony (ryan, their bassist) unplugged, and took off his guitar, and the stage crew came out and set up a mic.

well, at this point we all knew what was going down. and out came Phil, red white and blue armbands and all, his modulus in his hands.
the band was so stoked.
phil motioned his arm in circles to tell them to keep playing and not to stop. phil plugged in, and just started droppin' phil bombs, like only phil knows how to do. it was great!!
they "jammed" for about ten minutes, phil was loving playing with these guys (they are incredible musicians, you could see the respect).

then they slowed down the tempo, and busted straight into a roof bustin' FRANKLINS TOWER.
forget about it.
Phil sang, the band played their take on the song, and nobody stopped smilin', the Great American Music Hall erupted.

wow!
Franklins tower ended, everyone exchanged pleasantries and hugs, and phil walked off to a packed house ovation.

the energy didn't let up from there, and the band continued with a fanatastic set of their songs.
what a night!!!

Umphrey's tore it up, and raised the bar with our good pal Phil.

What a joy it was to log onto the philzone this morning, to do a little review of last night's show, and see NEW DATES announced for Phil & Friends with old and new friends.
