uhm, much of what sideshow said i guess. dogshow coulda stayed in the kennel. rapdude nextact guy from brooklyn had a coulpea good political songs, but once he beckoned me to do whatever with my hands/arms, i tuned out.

their beginning was cute: dj doing a "rocky" move, complete w/ theme music, running up whatever steps from the flick...then adrock as mickey the manager "try harder, run faster...you piece of shit!! now go get me a snowcone!!!" oh, & dj came out @ beginning of b-boy set thru the crowd to aforementioned rocky theme...very amusing.

b-boys highlight was clearly the part where they played real instruments...i got to dance & enjoy that fully, which was all that mattered to me. except, just like at many dead/phil shows...they finish that bit & this dude asks me "couldja sit down? my date can't see." oy fucking vey.

but the set was painfully short, much less than expected, songwise...i did dig the old stuff & *nyc song* from the new album, but my crowd was a mix...& since i chose "club box" seats, (floor was not available) mostly was surrounded by family types...including a 40-some couple w/ their 4 kids...mom & daughter in semi-matching schoolgirl get-ups: mighta been hot except the girl was about 11 & seeing her panties flapping around seemed pretty inappropriate. (wasted mom to kids b4 show: leave me alone! mommy's having cocktails!)

well, now i can say i saw 'em.

dude, thats just common courtesy, if the folks behind you aren't dancing keep your butt in the seat...the rules are different at jamband shows

yeah matthew dude, you & my mom at rod stewart agree. otherwise, i earnestly say "fuck them." and, as i also mentioned, i have heard the same at "jamband" shows. and at least i wasn't chain smoking on them.

well i am sure they were saying "fuck you" a lot behind your back...again, if dancing is not the general rule it is just plain disrespect

If you're talking a theatre show and some acoustic/quiet act then yeah sit down. :-)

But who the fuck sits at a Beastie Boys concert?

Nice review, Jill. :-)
