Anybody heard this? I bought it a couple days ago, and can't stop playing it. Easily the best CD I've bought in quite a while. I don't know Ben Harper all that well. I few years ago I heard Steal My Kisses on the radio and loved it, so I bought that CD. Fuckin hate every other song on it, so I haven't paid much attention to him since then. But I couldn't resist this one when I saw it in the store, as the Gospel seemed intriuging. I can't remember the last time I bought a CD and like EVERY song on it A LOT. It's just fantastic. Check it out.

I've seen a song listed on that cd, "Well, well, well"; is that the Bob Dylan/ Danny O'Keefe tune?

I tried to check it out last weekend, but couldn't find it. I've heard a couple of cuts on public radio and have loved them. I'm a fan both of Ben Harper's, and of gospel choirs, so this ought to be killer.

I suppose, more than strict Gospel Choirs, that I'm a fan of male vocal harmony. 2 of the 3 Persuasion's albums I have are killer. Might As Well (Persussions sing the Grateful Dead) and Persuasions sing Frank Zappa are tremendous. The choir I sing in has never been recorded (thanks be! - LOL)

I did pick up this Ben Harper and the Blind Boys yesterday afternoon, and I'm totally taken by it. Harper fits in so well over the top of this group vocally, and his compositions work really really well. Looking at the recent Blind Boys discography, I noticed that they've worked with Harper several times over the last 3 years, as well as other secular musicians, (even George Clinton!?!) I've got to check, but I think they did a song w/ John Fogerty, called 110 in the Shade, on his last album.

I know an album is musically moving when my daughter starts dancing around when she hears it, and I had to keep her from dancing at the table while I played it during dinner last night :o)

And yes, Well Well Well is the Dylan tune.

4 thumbs up - two for me and two for Katie.

Zeke, aren't those Persuasions albums awesome? I love them so much, and the Beatles one is just as good.

Have you heard the A Capella version of Golden Road by The Bobs? It's fantastic.

Poz, ya know, after the 1st 2 Persuasions discs, I was waiting impatiently for the Beatles disc, and it just didn't do it for me the same way as the others. Maybe I just wanted too much from it. I'll spin it again tonight and give it another chance.

No, I haven't heard that Bob's track. I'll have to look for it.
